Fueled by the success of Fat Fanny Ale, Catfish Brewing Company introduced Great Pumpkin Ale, Olgafish! Pumpkin brews are always a seasonal favorite and Catfish Brewery wanted to take a stab at one. It’s a traditional pumpkin ale with the addition of Pumpkin Pie spice.
This was a learning experience for the brewers at Catfish Brewery. It ended up tasting like a nut brown ale with pumpkin pie spice. While this flavor profile wasn’t the intended outcome, the brew was still very tasty!
Mike’s dad loves the It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Peanuts episode which helped name this brew. Olga was a pumpkin the year we brewed this beer. As you can see, she really enjoys dressing up for Halloween (or not!)
